It doesn’t take much to get me to make the trip to Tofino. So when I got the call from the Tofino Long Beach Chamber of Commerce to come up and do an encore presentation of my Social Media Workshop (from August), I was only too happy.
It also gave me a chance to break in our new mini-van on the twisties, yeehaa…
And if that wasn’t enough, it just so happened that my buddy Renaat (Wannawafel) was up there chillin. So I took the opportunity to have Renaat join us to tell a bit of his “social media success story”. There’s nothing like a real life case study to demonstrate the effectiveness of social media.
As part of the presentation I did a demonstration showing how easy it is to create video content for your blog. The workshop attendees graciously agreed to be part of the demo – see below.
Using my handy FLIP HD video camera, we boiled it down to 5 simple steps:
- Shoot your video. Audio quality is key so don’t hold the camera too far away
- Using the USB download the video to your computer
- Using the software the comes with the FLIP, upload the video to your YouTube channel (you’ll need to create a channel if you don’t have one)
- Grab (copy) the “embed code” from the box just below your video on YouTube.
- Paste the embed code into your blog. Write some content around it, eh voila.
So if you scan vs. read that’s; shoot, download, upload, grab, paste, and you’re done…
