What is “Social Advertising”?
Social advertising is advertising that leverages information from social networks like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, among others, to generate, target, and deliver advertising.
Examples of social advertising within the presentation below use a specific social channel (and API) to collect social information, while establishing and developing relationships with consumers. For example, advertising on Twitter or Facebook involves targeting (via demographics, geographics, affinities and interests) and displaying ads based on the user’s relationships articulated on those same services.
In the case of this presentation social advertising is included as part of a broader social media marketing strategy designed to connect with and engage consumers.
