Since 1994 Chris has been leveraging Internet based communications to build brands and move products for companies such as BMW, Royal Bank, and Nestle Purina, as well as BC based businesses like the Victoria International Airport, Island Savings and Oak Bay Marine Group. He has led the digital marketing practice at global ad agencies McCann Erikson, Publicis and Cove-Ito Japan.

In 2009 Chris founded bWEST, a social media consulting firm focused on helping companies develop social marketing strategies to effectively grow their business.

In 2010 Chris co-founded Social Media Camp, Canada’s largest conference dedicated to the exploration and sharing of ideas and insights around social media. Chris sold the business to an event corporation in 2019. 

Chris is deeply involved in the marketing community where he helps to inspire and share innovation. Chris speaks at universities and colleges and has been featured widely in the media including appearances on CBC Radio, CTV, CHEK News and Shaw TV.

Chris regularly speaks at conferences, trade shows, and corporate events about social media and online marketing strategies, trends, and tactics.
